This is a GREAT idea. Do you have any issues with the joint between the hinge and the steps being loose, since there is slop on the pins?

We actually have a situation where we store our unit that in the winter, we will not be able to fold down the steps. In the summer, I think I can change the angle that it's backed in with, and I could get it in a place that we could put the steps down.

But, if I could make the steps removable, reliably, I could always just back the unit the same way. Then, when we need in, just remove the steps...
