Just moved mine to the basement. Going deer hunting this week and was afraid the spare would drag going into the place we go. I also removed the three step stairs which has already dragged going into parking lots and put a two step stair in its place. It raised the stair while retracted over 8". Since I carry a 200cc motorcylce on the rear of the 2955 I am not concerned about the weight change moving the spare forward.
