Got a harded wire unit several years ago, and love it. Don't know if you boondock or not. But just for info, you might need to turn off the unit when running your generator unless it has you have it grounded. I run a Honda 2000 and just turn it off when using the gen. Not likely to burn the place down with 2000 watts.
