To clarify: there is a box in the AC unit that communicates with both the furnace and the AC unit for control. If the furnace tries to light/does light/goes out, it could likely be a bad ignitor. this functions both the keep the gas turned on if the flame is lit and off if it doesn't light (like a thermocouple), as well as forming the spark to light the propane stream. If you don't know what you are doing, take it to a tech.
