Never had one fail but if I do I can fix it and be back on the road in about 30 minutes. If just the end pops off the cable that is a 15 minute job. I own a machine shop and have made replaceable cable ends that you can install with a screw driver and a 3/32 Allen wrench. If the cable breaks I carry 25 feet of 5/32 cable. I give these to MOC mambers. I f you won't a set let me know.
