Removing the fireplace and removing the glass doors have nothing in common. At least for mine and it is a 2016 model. Mine has 4 screws holding the fireplace in place. They are visible as you look at the fireplace.
I also tracked coax to this location to deal with coax connections behind the fireplace. I found a splitter that didn't split the signal. That told me there was no testing of systems at manufacturing.
