Thin Moon Monday Evening

If it's clear where you are on Monday evening, try looking for the thin one day old moon about 10 degrees up almost due west at sunset or just after. It will be a pretty crescent and only about 23 hours old and just over 12 degrees from the sun. Might be a bit difficult to sweep up naked eye at sunset but keep looking. Binoculars will help. It will be about 1% illuminated and may look something like this image I took from the backyard about 10 years ago.
