Remembering Dale's (MIMF2) comments about the slide bolts, and how you needed to get them long enough so that the threaded portion was not inside the tubes, because of the inherent weakness caused by cutting the threads; maybe try to find bolts that have a smooth shank? Are they any specal grade? (Bad sentence - but you get the drift I hope)
