I was thinking of drilling holes in the hitch too, but went 180 degrees in the other direction! :-) I bought a blank 1-1/4" tow hitch that does not have a hole in it for a ball, and drilled and taped 4 holes in it and mounted a pivoting flag pole holder on this flat plate, and then I can remove it simply by pulling out the hitch pin. This goes in the 1-1/4" trailer hitch on the back of the 5ver. See pic.
