Never tried to put anything down for it to ride up on. I figured if it was that tight it would just push it across the floor. I have a strip of carpet I lay there anyways maybe I will try and let it down and put the slide in. Mine too opens and closes nice and I didn't really want to mess with it or have someone else mess it up.
