50 Amp Plug

Yesterday we lost power in the Montana. After checking everything I found a hole burnt in the plug. the neutral wire had come loose and shorted. I got it going and then went to town and got a new plug.
I bought a 30 to 50 amp adapter as it was cheaper than just a 50 amp female plug. I took it apart and installed the new plug onto the cable.
I will now take the plug apart yearly and tighten all the wire screws.
New 30 to 50 adapter $114.00 with Tax.
New 50 amp plug $130.00 plus tax
I suggest keeping the wires tight.
