All 4 series stainless is magnetic, 420, 440, 416. We use a lot of 420, 440 is used for knife blades, 416 is used for gun barrels. They will all rust some. The 3 series, 303, 304, 316 won't rust and won't stick to a magnet. I listed a few there are many others of both types and other types, the 5 and 7 series.
