We were at Stone Mtn in May of 04. We stayed at Stone Mountain Park and enjoyed every minute.
If you stay in the park I would suggest looking at the campsites before they asign one to you. We did take pictures and you will see what I mean by clicking here. If you scroll toward the bottom you will see what I mean about some of the campsites. It was like sitting on the edge of a cliff with the cliff being on 3 out of 4 sides but the view was fantastic. They do have many other sites that are in a better location where you don't feel like you are on the edge of the world.

BTW-If you do get a site like I had be sure you chock all the wheels
