Well Carol does not have that much of a "leaky brain syndrome" because she had it pretty well close to the answer! Ok, the answer is in from Mike Mack who is down at the Tampa RV Show from Goshen and Keystone. Mike told those at the MOC gathering today that the measurement is from the bumper or back of the units if they do not have a bumper to the mid point of the hitchbox(if you look at photos of the front of a Montana, you will see that the front nose of the unit is approximately half way over the hitchbox/hitchpin attached to the front of the union) and then add approximately 2 feet because that includes the balance of the hitchbox and the distance the ladder is from the back of the unit. It used to be that the model number told you the length of the unit but now with the many additions to the units such as the residential refrigs and etc and this changing the model number, and the model number does not indicate the length of the unit anymore! So drop a plumline off the ladder and mark your point and then drop a plumline off the front of the hitch and mark it. Then take a tape measurer or a lazer tape and measure between the two points AND THAT IS YOUR LENGTH!
