The GF thingy will have nothing to do with it as it is AC and not DC. Check the fuse in the fuse panel panel for the bedroom lights first, I would remove the fuse and reseat it (if you can figure out which one it is). If that does not help, then I would venture to say that you have a wire that is grounding out.
