The way ST tires are rated is misleading- ST tires have LESS margin than LT tires- That means the posted weight rate is close to the maximum capability of the tire while LT tires have MORE margin- That's why ST tires are meant for trailer use only and are NEVER to be used on a pickup- There is no such limitation on LT tires- I have put new LT tires on our fiver for 13 plus years- After 4 years, I replace the fiver tires and put the fiver tires on the drive axle of our TV for 4 years- Then I repeat the process [new tires on fiver and rotate the takeoffs to the TV drive axle- I also incorporate the spare tire in the process] JMHO- Don
