My bedroom AC I can here the compressor cycle on and off, but the fan always runs. Dometic told me that is the way to do it. When I had it AUTO mode, the AC would run, and cool done the upstairs, and shut down. Never would come back on again. Had the unit replaced and the thermostat, same results. So now I dont bother trying to figure it out. Another RV tech told me that the units might freeze up when they cycle, so its good to leave the fan mode in HI or LO, so when the compressor shuts off, the air blows over the coils and keeps them from freezing. I have been doing this the last 2 years and all seems well, and I have good air movement in the coach.
