Washer and dryer have separate doors in this unit (washer on bottom and dryer on top). We run both with the doors shut and have likewise done the same with the other two rigs, but they had single doors for both the washer and dryer. The clearance requirements are minimal and I see no reason that both cannot operate with the doors closed. There is air flow around the doors so I do not think the air flow would be an issue, but that is my opinion only.
