Think about the weight that you apply to the ground from your body just standing there. Now if you jump off a concrete block and land without bending your knees, the weight hitting the ground is not your actual weight, but something more due to the drop and speed of drop. Added safety margin due to 8k is just improved framing to resist stress and damage to rig. And since it is independant, that rough road or dreaded pothole affects just that one wheel and is not transferred across an axle to the other wheel and their is no connection on the same side to transfer shock and stress to the wheel on the same side. I have never felt the 8k to be harsher than the crap that came off the rig. Enjoy the I.S. and disk brakes.
