I used a Meguier's carnauba auto wax on mine. Covered the decals and everything. I didn't read the ingredients so I don't know about petroleum products. All I can say is, the whole trailer came out looking good. Down the road, who knows? Maybe waxing the decals is a bad call, but it never bothered my Cougar TT.
