Thanks for all the kind replies and I took Sue & ED's idea and today I bought a cabinet & drawer spring latch that was in the child protection area of a Dept store and I put it on and I think it is going to do the trick for me.
This site has the nicest people and makes buying a Montana such a great experience. Take care.
