Depending on the weight of your trailer, the places you have gone may not be licensed to inspect a heavier unit. When we first bought our monty we had to take it to a truck inspection garage. Since then our dealer got a license to inspect heavier trailers. Call around to truck repair/inspection garages I bet they will help you out! We are in PA and yes once a year inspection. They check brakes, lights, tire wear, etc. I don't mind at all - would rather be safe.
