I've found that just putting more caulk on old will not seal. After doing this and going back say 6 months later the new caulk will have a crack around it. With small spots of new caulk around exposed screw, you can easily peel away the new caulk. Don't know the solution but we may need to remove some or all of the old caulk then replace with new. Has anyone had any luck with just applying new over old, maybe I missed a trick in doing it this way?
