There is a gap.

Possible problem: There is a gap between the bay door and the edge of the convenience center (at least there is on my unit). So vermin can crawl up the hose and into the convenience center. Then they can crawl through the gap between the convenience center wall and the bay door. There are many, many spiders and other undesirable bugs around here. We have spotted both black widows and brown recluse in our area.

A Solution: had some scrap sticky back molding, so I cut a strip for the edge of the wall. It didn't quite fill the gap, so I cut another strip for the inside of the door. The two moldings compressed together slightly to provide a seal.
