For years I covered the AC unit now I do not quit honestly I see no good reason to cover!
I do recommend if you do not have vent covers the brand name escapes me for now get them including the Fantastic Fan.They sure help protect the flimsy vents from the elements Sun and Snow not to mention their advantage the ability to keep vents open when it is raining.The option is to construct boxes made of wood the lay over the vents during winter storage adding a couple bricks to the top to insure they will not blow off! Something we did for years and it works wellq
