"My Self" adjusting brakes

I purchased a set of the Dexter Self adjusting at the fall rally but have not had time to get them installed. My OEM brakes are in need of adjusting. So yesterday I adjusted them "Myself" which made them "Myself" adjusting brakes. Glad I did too. The brakes had been a bit spotty for the last two runs and today we are leaving Chattanooga for Savannah. After adjusting the two on the passenger side I started on the drivers side and found that one of the main supply wires had been snapped off. I found two ends and it appeared that a piece of road junk had snapped it. I would guess that this was why my brakes were not working properly(or at all). I stripped the ends andused a butt splice and some self sealing heat shrink tubing and now they work. I guess it is a good idea to crawl under the rig periodically just to look around.... Dave
