I think a lot depends on how one intends to use the Montana. For those who do weekends and vacations and probably do little meal preparation indoors, then the large counter in the 3400RL is probably wasted space. But we use our Montana fulltime. For us, adequate kitchen counter space for food preparation was a critical factor in the buy decision. The sink covers add even more counter space.

So I don't think there is a good 'yes' or 'no' answer to your question that applies to everyone. It all comes down to how you intend to use that Montana. Good luck with your decision and your Montana.
