Oz - that's not enough power to run your 15k btu AC. I couldn't with either of the Yamaha 2400is generators I had. Get a Harbor Freight 4k peak, 3.4k running one if you're not going to be running it a lot. They're a little noisier, but not bad, and cheap. I'll show you the one we've got at the rally if you're interested. Works great when staying an truck stops (the semi's are noiser!).
