One thing you can try is to lube the bottom of the slide with some dry lube, spray on or something like candle wax. That will make it slide easier and could solve the problem. Something else I have a HC and have checked many slide cables and not found one the cables were adjusted wright. The pulling should be tight and the others should have some play in them, according to the manufacturer. Too much pressure on the cables would make the slid hard to move and over heat the breaker.
