I put a marine macerator pump on my 1975 GMC in 1981.It worked every time. I sold the GMC in 2006 and the original macerator was working fine. It took a lot of mechanical work to set up the tank valve with an air cylinder and solenoids to open the drain electrically, but I was happy to have an easier sewer setup, especially since we made a lot of one night stops in the GMC.
I bought the Thetford portable macerator for our Monty in 2006 and mounted it permanently on the existing sewer drain piping. It's worked very well since i installed it. On one of our trips the campground sewer drain was about 50 feet from our trailer so i bought a one inch diameter hose to extend the drain length. It ran a bit slower, but still worked fine.
