Something too consider. We have a Dometic "Sealand" model 210 and I just completed replacing the rubber seal at the bottom of the toilet since it wore out and no longer held water. According to the first place I called, the seller mentioned, "yup, you gotta replace it very 3 or so years". I've had my trailer for 9 years with rare use, then went to fulltiming in it and the seal wore out within 7 months of almost daily use. How can anyone say 3 or so years, since it would surely depend on frequency of use.

In retrospect, the replacement kit was only about $22 from Amazon (including shipping) and since I did the labor (about 2 hours, which including on a thorough cleaning of everything) and it's all working now, however, using a toilet that has a part that will wear out in this manner, to me is not a good design. Because the flush operation slides a plastic valve against a rubber seal, this will cause things to wear.

I suggest you look for a toilet, that uses a different mechanism for flushing if there is one. For example, a flap style that opens and drops the effluent rather than slide valves that open causing eventual wear.

That's just my 2 cents, and I hope there are better designed RV gravity toilets. I wonder how long this seal will last with full-time use, especially when my daughter-in-law and grandkiddies visit every so often? Maybe we'll suggest the local restrooms at the RV Parks, but I'm guessing I'll get voted down and I'll be doing this repair every year or two. I did NOT buy a spare repair kit, since I don't know how soon I would need it and I didn't want to carry it in the rig for that long.
