Hi The DW and I lived in Grants Pass for 20 plus years and have used 199 to get to the coast countless times. Just before The State Park area the road gets narrow and the mountains side is close to the road, its curves are tight not bad if you have cars coming on. If you have a logging truck or MH, someting oversized then its very hard to miss hitting a mirror or rear as it comes around. Its doable but it take a steady hand on the wheel and eyes aleart. good luck. Hope this helps.
