We had Mor Ryde install a 2 inch hitch on our 06 3400 because we wanted it there.We have stayed with the flimsy hitch on the 2013 3402 because we no longer haul bikes around. We have seen some outrageous things being towed behind 5th wheels.
The point is not that you have done it for years and never had a problem the point is that if something breaks the manufacturers warranty and the extended service plan will not pay for the repair because of the hitch...However that is a personal decision and the advantage obviously out weighs the consequence.
