In the past, with the cap done in Croftgate wash and wax, the bugs stuck and were harder to get off. In fact when I arrived at the MOC Mid Atlantic, I use Croftgate Aquanil-X and a used Bounce Dryer sheet to clean all the bugs off. It took more work than it did after I had it detailed at the rally and I arrived home.
