not “needed” for any cartridge.
just do to over all length and chamber sizing. the cartridge must fit correct. as the round is lit off. most cases will stretch a tiny bit. not all will. then a bit of stretching can happen during re sizing on the bench.
the more accuracy you want for said rifle. the more constant the loaded round needs to be.
