Guess Carol and the service tech were correct. Looked up the replacement part for the unknown bar at the front and it is indeed called a "towel bar". I guess I need to rephrase the previous thing about the bruises and it being removed, to "if DW wants it gone, it will be gone, if DW wants it to stay, it will stay!" There, I feel a lot better now!
