My wife and I did the Alaska trip last year 81 days 11,250 plus miles , coming from Minnesota you should know what frost heaves are , up there they are the norm markrd with red flags, cones , orange paint on the road , or not at all , worst road we hit was from Kulane lake to Tok ( it was under constuction )
one thing that I should mention the only credit cards Canada will take are the chip card and let your card company know you are going, and check if they charge an international fee for transactions, we used cap one and no fees and email notification of charges with the conversion rate allready done
