Are you trying to just get there or sight see on the way. There is a big difference. If sightseeing, you should go up the ice field parkway. We were there in 2014. I would figure 200 to 300 miles per day. From Haines Junction to the Alaska border is brutal. We bought a new set of springs (along with many other people) on that stretch of road. Enjoy the North Pole. Lots of good day trips from there - Denali, Delta Junction, etc.
