Many people who have Dish at home just take their home receiver box to the RV when they travel without getting a separate RV account. I bought another receiver for the RV and set up an RV account as I didn't want to have to unhook, move, hookup, unhook, move back, and rehookup the box every time we went somewhere.

With a dishformyrv account, it is very easy to get local network channels when you are out of your local reception area. Just call or chat Dish, tell them you want to change your service address (not the billing address), and in a few minutes you will have local channels from the nearest broadcasting area. We have done that many times when out of our area, the campground did not have cable, and we could not get OTA channels. DW has to have her favorite shows in the proper time slot. Don't know if you can do that when taking a receiver from home or not.
