A friend has a solution for mice coming up the power cord. Double the cord over in a 5 gallon bucket with about a gallon of water in it. Just make sure you have a good power cord.

Lynwood - great solution - that cord is only a 16 or 18 Awg to keep the battery charger and lights on if needed over the winter. Might even work if the water is frozen too such as this morning when it's at ~25*F
