You didn't mention how far away from home your planning on going. I live in Eastern Washington and travel to the coast and down into Oregon etc. probably four or five hundred miles and still get my home channels as that is what I prefer. As stated earlier by Pete I try to use the receivers at least every couple of weeks so that they have not been disconnected to to lack of use. Then even in the mountains with no cell phone service I have no problem with getting my normal services.
I have not had any desire to get other local stations as I am not full timing yet. Maybe then I will try For other local stations. Also on a side note for the last year or two I have had dealt with great people when calling DISH, usually located back in eastern seaboard.
