Is yours one of the set-ups that needs the jumper cable to get outside cable. Over the air antenna would work without it but cable would not. Look inside where the cable comes in from outside and see if there are 2 coax connections on the plate. There should be a short piece of cable connecting the two. If it's there then like everyone else I had to replace a bunch of the connections on the cables. Most of them where ready to fall off.
