That isn't true on the older model Chevy's. Mine is a 2007 3500 and I only have 9900# GVW. The 2500 Chevy had 9200# GVW. My the time you add the extra springs for the 3500 there isn't 700# difference from one to the other. These are SRW's, not duallies. I'm over about 400# on my 3000RK and it is one of the smaller trailers out there for 35.6' long. I went from a 2880 to a 3000RK and thought that the 3500 would do the job.
