This sounds like the same kind of exercises I went through when I upgraded my F-250 to an F-350. It can be a real trick to get all the facts lined up, but if you can find the right person which it looks like you have, then it's "in the bank".

Have fun with this work. It sounds like it will probably mean an additional leaf (or a whole different leaf spring pack) and you'll need new U-bolts and nuts and the spring pack center pin because these are not reusable.

I think you are on the right track.
