You bring up a good point, and I travel with a roll (small) also.

I have had an awning tear exactly where yours did, on the seam. A&E covered it under warranty. I found out that had it torn anywhere else but on a seam, it would not have been covered.

So, since I'm not out of warranty, I'm wondering if taking about a 6" strip of eternabond, or that clear stuff made for awning repair, and putting it folded around at those end spots where the seam is.

What's that old saying about an ounce of prevention?
