These were ordinary folks who accomplished extra ordinary things and never complained about their duty. They are passing at a rapid rate. This topic made me realize that nearly all of our family who were of age and able served during WW2 and all of them are gone.Every one of them.. My Uncle Fred who passed at the age of 92 a few years ago was the last. he was a 21 year old pilot at Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941.He survived the war as nearly all of the family did and died a old man surrounded by family. So many did not get that chance. He never forgave the Japanese and never had a kind word for them.. I guess you had to be there. Your Dad joins a brave generation of men and women may they all rest in peace and may we never forget what they gave for us.
