Giving false information to a Police Office is a crime and you may be the one going to the cross bar hotel that evening. It's never a good idea to lie to the police.
All local officers have jurisdiction boundaries and they can't just go anywhere they wish.
Someone has enforcement powers for that area. Maybe its the Sheriff's Office.
I liked the idea of writing the paper.
