I had NOT unrolled the entire length of the cord from the spool. Remember it was 14 gauge. It got real hot!!! It melted down. Very lucky no other damage.
Moral of the story, use at least 12 gauge, unrolled the entire length of cord and lay it flat on the ground, dont over load it
I use a 12 gauge 100’ cord with the 15amp to 50 amp adapter at my house that works well. I can run the 15k air conditioner without any issues. Plan to bury #4 copper in the spring and have the full 50 amps available.
