Front Jacks bent

Tow truck driver nor myself knew you should not try to disconnect rig when front wheels are up off the ground. When the driver hand pulled to disconnect it didn't and bent both adjustable sleeves that go up and down. The legs are O.K. Lifted rig up to pull out the legs and set sleeves on blocks. I hope you have the picture. Here is my question. The repair shop says for safety reasons the whole assesmbly should be replaced. That means cutting the welds to get the assemnbly out and rewelding to instal. Since the legs are not bend and the outside sleeve that is welded looks good to me, shouldn't the shop just have to order adjustable arms that the gears pull up and down. My insurance company is covering this, but I don't want anyone to get ripped off. Any input on this will be appreciated.
