I have a very good friend, full timer, who lives in the area (Austin). She has been keeping me up to date on this devastating storm.

There is a KOA nearby, that is by the water, all the rigs were evacuated as soon as possible, many are boondocking at a local Wal*Mart. Some were just moved up the hill. The problem that came up was that some of the units were there but, the owners were not. No keys and no way for the campground owners/workers to yank them out of the campsites. They are now toast and flooded.

From my seat, the campgrounds did a better job this fall compared to this spring, when many of the same areas were also devastated by floods. And, it seems, that many of the owners did not laugh off the warnings.

Over all, it is a very sad affair. And, at least 5 lives have been lost. The trailers and MH's can be replaced, the lives cannot.
